Studies & Research

Written by people, not models. Independent platform comparisons and practitioner studies, built on hands-on evaluation and the words of the people who run commerce.

What we publish, and how it gets made

Platform comparisons. Two systems put side by side on cost, architecture, and risk, from hands-on evaluation rather than vendor decks.

Trends reports. Where a market is heading, built from interviews with the people running it.

Practitioner studies. Questions put to working practitioners, with their answers printed and quoted in their own words.

Buyer's guides. A decision framework for a specific purchase, so a team knows what to weigh before they sign.

Benchmarks. A scored evaluation of the field against a fixed rubric, so results compare like for like.

Category landscapes. A map of a space end to end, showing who does what and where the gaps are.

Original research, done by hand, not a restatement of what is already out there.

Studies underway

Research we are running now. These are open, and you can add your answer while collection is still going.

Case studies

We write case studies for other businesses too, turning their results into stories that sell. We write a lot of them.

We write case studies

Talks and presentations

We take the same arguments on the road. Conference talks and presentations on AEO, commerce, and where content is heading, given to rooms of practitioners. Recent talks include an AEO session at Meet Magento.

About the research

Who writes these?

Content Cucumber's writers, the same people who write for our clients. It is human research and human writing from start to finish.

Do I have to give my email?

The reports are gated, so yes for those. The studies are open, and you can read a study page and answer its question without giving anything.

Can I quote from them?

Yes, with attribution to Content Cucumber and a link back. If you want the underlying material for something you are writing, ask and we will talk.

How often does something new publish?

When the work is finished. No calendar, no quota, and nothing gets shipped to fill a slot.

Get the next one when it publishes

One email per report or study. Nothing else, and nobody is added to a marketing list for asking.
